Anyone else talk back to Mant?
I can’t be the only one that feels so “in it” in these episodes that I am chiming in on the show as if they can hear me. I do not do this on any other pod. I love these two. They are so smart and ridiculous and earnest and create such a safe space to learn - I just can’t get over how much I look forward to our weekly sit downs. I love the long episodes, the inside jokes, the call backs, the personal updates…. And the depth of research they do to make us listeners this incredible and best of the best entertainment. I can’t wait for the day I am listening to This American Life featuring a little tale or spotlight from these two. I know they will make it there. My daughter and I keep a “men will literally _____ before they will go to therapy” shared iPhone note (if you need proof I am real one) that we started just tracking the mentions on the show, and now we add to when we come across a new option for the blank. (And if you all want to bring that back…. I know a couple people who would love it if you did). To those posting reviews that are not 5 stars, complaining about anything on this show, I want you to know “that’s a wild thing that you just said.” I feel so much more like a human post-pandemic thanks to this show. I finish a listen uplifted and feeling social and just ‘better.’ So, I just want to say “Well, I laughed, too” and I can’t thank these two enough for that.

    Usually great
Usually a great show. I really dislike the super long episodes. Just break it into more parts! Also does grant have to interrupt every 3 seconds!? Ugh

    Show Title is Apt
Pretty light on history and pretty heavy on the hosts humoring each other. I’m sure some would enjoy it; just not me. At least the show title is appropriate.

    Zero stars
Good premise but the hosts are so obnoxious that it’s impossible to listen. They spend entire episodes cackling loudly over things that aren’t funny. I tried listening to two episodes and threw in the towel. Grow up.

    We’re all friends here
Grant and Maia/Maia and Grant makes this podcast that feels like you’ve been let into their inner circle. History, comedy, interesting stories that are ~funny now~. Every listen is a joy and highlight of my week. So thankful to have come across them. Patreon is worth it too!

    Key words
8 people we love. Horses? Gin & Tonic. My favorite podcast, I literally consider us friends. History, gossip, burning the patriarchy and a talking ferret. Enough said. A+.

Totally bummed I caught up 😂
I was flipping through TikTok and the video with Maia’s visceral reaction to Grant talking about the Devil’s Hole actually made me laugh (also the Devil’s Hole is really interesting, went into a deep dive on that after the podcast lol) and I rushed to the podcast. I’m not always big on the super long episodes, but this podcast made me feel like I was sitting around a table with friends chatting and the length of some of the episodes didn’t even register. I love it. I wish I hadn’t caught up already, but I look forward to new releases every week!

BEST PODCAST EVER I AM NOT KIDDING
As someone who is a serial, listen-to-10-minutes-of-a-podcast-and-ditch-it-because-it’s-not-the-vibe person, I have binged this entire series in only a couple of weeks. Hooked from day one, babyyyyy!!! Grant and Maia are so hilarious, their research and dedication to the bit is top tier, and the fact that each episode is AT LEAST 50 minutes gives me LIFE. You will be win win WINNING when you listen to this pod!!!

    Weekly Fun!
I love learning about history and other interesting topics shared on this podcast! Mia and Grant make me laugh out loud. This podcast has been a game changer for my 1.5 hour commute and I actually look forward to driving so that I have time to listen :)! Thank you for making this podcast- listening to it is a bright spot in my week. Dying to know how your visit to Casa Bonita was though…

Look forward to this every week!
Found this podcast through sheer luck and have been listening ever since! I love all the banter, the historical insight… So much fun! Highly recommend!

    An Immediate Favorite
I’ve been listening since the second episode came out and it’s been my favorite podcast ever since. Grant and Maia are genuinely hilarious and always bring interesting stories to the table.

    Learn, Laugh, Love
I cannot express how quickly you will fall in love with Grant and Maia. The banter, moderate hazing and true friendship shine in each episode. These two take the listener on a learning adventure and make subjects you didn’t even know existed into topics you cannot forget and WILL bring up at your next gathering of friends. I have never fallen in love with random acts of history, almost extinct tiny fish, a pepto pink colored Colorado resturant, bears on drugs, friends I’ve never met but love dearly who spent time on a farm in Hawaii and above all the two hosts who are friends I just haven’t had the pleasure of meeting in person. I can’t wait for Wednesdays 💜

    Good funny pod
Good podcast but episodes are entirely too long you get 30 minutes of topic related content and and hour and a half of 2 people BSing about their days. Could be a little tighter. But still listening
  • SamPoeKnowsPods
    Love it BUT
I have loved this podcast since day one. The only thing they need to work on is Maia’s laugh is so loud on the mic, I have to swat my ear buds out. I love her laugh but it doesn’t record well with their equipment. I am so sorry!!! Neurodivergent weirdo over here. I love you two and I eagerly await each weeks episode.
  • Hummanahummunawhaaaat
    Obsessed!
I love these two, I want to be part of a friend group like this so bad! So much fun all around

    So funny
I have never heard a podcast where they laugh so much. This is probably my number one podcast. No matter my mood, this is what I would prefer to listen to. The only thing……. There is sooooooo much side conversation. Don’t get me wrong, the side convos are funny, but there are so many comments that also don’t need to be said because they aren’t funny and it just takes away from the story. One episode in particular was the one where it was 2 hours long. They had a guy who was a guest. I can’t even remember what the story was because I had to skip through most of it to get to the story, then I just remember thinking, 2 hours for that? Most episodes I also have to skip through the first 30 minutes to get to the subject. The stories are amazing. I’ve sent episodes to other people. But the side convos doesn’t do that much for me as a listener because it more inside joke type things that maybe are more funny to them.

    Oh What Fun!
Listening to these two charming, witty, and fun individuals brings so much joy. No matter how serious (or sometimes rather unserious) their topics/episodes, I always find myself 1) learning something and 2) being catapulted into bouts of laughter as if I’m sitting at the table with them. The hard work they put into this podcast makes it both a pure joy to listen to AND my silly little treat of the week. Much love to Maia and Grant 🩷 Cheers to many many more episodes and silly little treats too!

    I Laughed More
Dude. It’s very rare to find people who seem so genuine and are hilarious at the same time. Definitely give this a listen, you won’t regret it. ✌🏻
  • This egg
    Love it!
Grant’s quick wit and teacher quips (I’m also a teacher) are amazing and Maia’s cackle and sly inputs are my bread and butter! Can’t wait to hear more and see them rise to the top! Easily, my new favorite podcast!!! 🤩

    Laughing out loud…
Eight episodes in and I can’t remember the last podcast I have cackled out loud this much with. Great job, y’all.

    Can’t help but laugh
I often find myself laughing so hard in the most inappropriate places like on the bus, or even today on a short flight! I’m always so conscious that people on the outside are just observing a person convulsing, or possibly having very strong hiccups, as I try to restrain my laughter. 😂 I think the story telling is getter better each week! I can’t wait for more episodes.

    Oh, You Will Laugh
Looking for a podcast that's funnier than a squirrel on roller skates, packed with friendship vibes, and serves up random facts like those annoying pop-up ads from the ancient times of the early 2000s? Look no further, my friend! "Well, I Laughed" is the podcast that will tickle your funny bone and have you binging on old episodes like they're the last slice of pizza at a party. The hosts are comedy gold, with a rapport so tight it could rival a pair of yoga pants after Thanksgiving dinner. They know when to be serious, but they're never afraid to dive headfirst into the wackiest and wildest topics. Trust me, you'll be laughing so hard that your neighbors will think you're auditioning for a clown convention. Seriously, folks, I can't stress this enough. You have to listen to this podcast! It's like finding a hidden treasure chest full of hilarity and joy. So grab your headphones, get ready to snort-laugh in public, and join the "Well, I Laughed" fan club. You won't regret it, I promise!

    Great Listen
So I honestly found them through Instagram first, for whatever reason was compelled to follow them there, and didn’t actually listen until about a month later. It was some of their reels that caught my interest, but their personalities, views, and banter that got me hooked. Great dynamics, interesting topics, and their laughs are contagious. Hoping to borrow some of the one-liners for personal use. I’ve been listening to them for the past 4 days and it’s easily a new favorite podcast. I listened, I learned, and…well, I laughed.

    Love these people ❤️
Love the topics they choose to discuss! So interesting and I find their vibe happy and cozy!
  • Ekwandoh
    It’s the banter for me
I listen at work on my down time and laugh with my whole chest. So much so that my coworkers now know exactly when I’m listening. It’s the best. Don’t stop. Be gay. Do crimes. None of this is permanent.

    HILARIOUS Podcast
These guys are great!!! This is a COMEDY podcast (not educational) 🤣. Great story telling and even better tangents!
  • EFritzatore
Well, I laugh inappropriately loud at work now
This podcast is hilarious and wonderful. Grant and Maia are my new best friends and they don’t even know it. I sit at my desk chuckling out loud all day and I know my coworkers probably hate that, but as a person with severely high anxiety, it makes my day 200% better. Thank yooouuuuuu! Byyyyyeeee

Not sure where I am but ok
Listened to Casa Bonita episode by accident when I couldn't get up to change it. I enjoyed it and do / don't want to ever go there... But feel like I've stumbled into a meeting I hope I either do or don't belong in but I'm still not sure which. I used to sneak into Awmway meetings at my school and stands in the back with usher vibes. I feel the same giddy sense of probably not belonging somewhere. This seems better and less predatory than Amsway. I keep listening for 'join our weird church' vibes, or bad dog whistles. If so and I've already left this review, I'm just saying it seemed innocuous at first - and entertaining - and i hope it's not a cult or something, so i can listen again. What is this podcast for / about? Sorry. Thank you. ~TargetLadyHands

    Well…you made me laugh
Found you while scrolling through TikTok and started listening. This podcast is intriguing and hilarious!! Just listened to the Casa Bonita episode. We are planning a trip to Denver in 2 weeks and we need this EXPERIENCE! 🤪 But in all seriousness, I appreciate the spin on the different topics so far. Nice to hear varying viewpoints and more details than mainstream media tends to give. I’ve cackled, guttural laughed, wheezy laughed, snortled, and laughed so much my tummy hurt. Job well done!

    This was unhinged
This is the funniest podcast episode I have ever listened to. Keep up the great work and get him back for another story. I love you guys.

    10/10, do recommend
I loved everything about this podcast from the first episode, but the twelfth was honestly one of the funniest 2 and a half hours of my life. And I really felt, on a deep spiritual level, one of the final comments of “Dude, I have ADHD, depression, and anxiety. I dissociate from things like *that.*” but yet we were both riveted the entire time 🤣🤣 I’m wondering if I should move to Denver 😅
  • Home Platypus
    One of my favorites!
Love this podcast! The banter and story telling is exactly what I want in a podcast. Grant and Maia are so funny. I have laughed every episode.

I am susceptible to content overload. I have so much to listen to and would like to listen to, but I cannot decide and I am not in the mood for anything. This has become my go to reset. It is easily listening, enjoyable, and you still learn something on a wide range of topics. Plus, I have never laughed out loud this much listen to Podcasts. Cheers to talking about this at dinner parties.

    Sad
This podcast is amazing. Thank you guys for a fresh podcast to keep up with. My only issue is that I drive for fedex and usually binge listen to new podcasts at work and I was very upset to only see 10 episodes when I found you guys on tik tok😭🤣

    LOVE this podcast!
This is one of my favorite finds on Apple Podcasts! They really make you feel like you’re integrated into the friend group, and you get to laugh with them. Keep up the great work!

This feels like hanging out with your besties
This is exactly like how my friends and I talk with each other: the tangents, the witty responses, and making each other laugh while telling stories in an engaging way all make this so relatable and I feel like I’m in the room with them. Don’t listen to the feedback about tangents, I love them! That’s exactly how my brain works and I honestly laughed.
  • laurwhy
    Well I also laughed
I absolutely love this podcast! They’re funny, they provide you with random knowledge about the history big topics that you otherwise wouldn’t know. I especially loved the info about queer history and how the word drag (may have) come to be. I would love to see more topics on queer history. Another reviewer critiqued them on thinking that they’re funny because they’re funny? And yes they’re just that, funny. They have a good balance of serious topics mixed with humor (yes some dark humor which I love). Overall worth this listen!
  • Rfs119
Tyler doesn’t know what he’s missing
Love this show! The hosts are hilarious and don’t shy away from making their friendship part of the show—but in a way that’s still accessible to us total strangers. Their dynamic is terrific and their jokes are on point. Obsessed.
  • Trixie1b
    Hilarious and weirdly educational
    Love everything about this!
  • shanay2.0
    I laughed too 😂
I love the serious topics with the light comedic approach. It’s a good break from all the dark true crime podcasts. Thank you for helping my nights go by at work! Already binged all of your episodes so I’m looking forward to hearing more 😊
