Azerath13997Give me more!So I went into this show because my partner was like “Hey. You should listen to Among the Stars and Bones. I think you’ll like it.” I don’t like it. I love it! Okay I didn’t like the audio distortions. I totally understand it story wise and everything. My brain and auditory processing issues made it annoying. I can’t wait to learn what the solution is to Season 2 and what new problems the crew will run into (but can they have like a 6 month vacation first. In nature. With hugs.) I do wish we got more archeological stuff and learned more about the alien culture. Don’t get me wrong, I love the plot of the show, but I would sign up for classes taught by these people about the Proximans and love everyday.

Rabies8Its goodI like it, the first season was really interesting. I do love scifi and archeology. The second season was also good, but i feel like i was better at guessing what was going on but the characters were still struggling to work it out. But then i guess that the types of personnel on site did not have the right qualifications toward the right types of roles. Still ill rate it 5 stars, but i am a bit frustrated listening to season 2, as it takes further episodes before they can confirm my own speculation. Id be fine if they just brought up my speculations but said that there was no concrete evidence to support them. But they don’t even speculate towards it. Whats the term when your playing dnd and you know the story and make decisions based on knowledge your character doesn’t actually know. I feel like they are avoid certain obvious speculation in that matter to make the story sound more mysterious, but its just frustrating. Still, i like the characters and the voices. Im sure they will improve if they make a season 3. The show is very intellectual and i feel like im talking more professionally afterwards. Give it a try.

BrandtismantisHangYou have to get to the end. It’s not awesome since it’s all based on the reports and doesn’t really get good until the last two episodes. Buts it’s worth it. Invest the time. Pretty cool twist at the end.

JdjdidjdjdjdFinishedI pushed through the skipping and it was sooo worth it. Great story! I really hope they make more seasons of future missions. I changed my review from 3 to 5 after finishing it…loved it!

Toe-Knee Cap ShinEp. 2 Skips are “separation”Don’t trip on the skips. It’s in the title and if you listen to the end it’s part of the effect. Admittedly it’s a bit much but we’ll listen through and hope it smooths out.

hotarubinomorieA fun listen!Overall a great story, well put together. I liked the method of storytelling, and the voice acting was very strong all around. It was fun to try and figure out the pieces of the mystery. Look forward to future seasons if they decide to make them.

Darryl AokiGreat Storytelling!A bit of a slow start, but the storytelling really sucked me in. The characters are compelling, and the storyline left me wanting more of each episode. And the sound design is absolutely fabulous. Waiting eagerly for Season 2!

~slpblue~FantasticThis podcast was so good when I listened to it at the end of 2019 beginning of last year, that I practically begged my fellow podcast-listening friends to try it out. I love the world-building, the xenobiology, the characterization, the formatting of the logs from crew members, the diversity in voices and names, all of it. I don’t know if there will be a season 2, but I’ve kept this podcast in my library for a year and a half just in case. I hope it comes back, even if it’s with a new crew somewhere else, because this podcast was something special. There is ONE thing that I thought WASNT perfect, which I’ll explain. Spoiler warning, because it happens in the very last episode. This podcast falls into the cliche of the villain explaining his whole plan to the protagonists because he thinks he’s going to kill them so that the audience can get the necessary exposition on the villain’s plans. I thought that, after such creativity up until that point, it was a really weak way to resolve the conflict. My suggestion would have been to have the protagonists go back after and explain it to their crew, or send a report on what happened after, not just the villain going “haha! Let me now spend seven minutes on exposition so you have evidence against me when you eventually make it out of my trap!” I still loved the plot twists and the end of the story, but the execution was poor.

CamaroGirl5 Stars All AroundGreat production, great acting, good storyline, and most importantly, it’s finished! These are my fave kinds of podcasts to listen to :)
-
Matthew BlackstockExcellentI am convinced that these podcasts will eventually replace audio books in the industry. I still love to read books but this is an awesome way to receive a great story.
-
AL NERDGreatExcellent and incredibly creative podcast!!! Should be a favorite of all of us who love sci-do audio dramas. Can’t wait for a season 2 !!
-
YakusohshiRivals EarthsearchYou won’t be disappointed. Equal in quality to the best of BBC radio dramas. Plus who doesn’t like xenoarchaeology? And thank you for the recognition of aboriginal land.
-
clay-bunnyI didn’t hate it.I’m alone in a room working all day. I enjoyed that this was a long story with a solid plot line and decent characters. Interesting idea. I also love archeological. While some of the actors can act, others are just energetically reading a script. Gave me some eye rolling moments. Good on the mystery. If a season two ever comes out, I’ll listen.

Sarah L WoodIs there more?I am giving a four for now because it’s short. Hope there will be more.
-
dperlmutterThoughtful, intelligent, well executedPodcast Science Fiction suffers typically from flat plotting and terrible acting...But not here. The plot is intriguing, well developed. And the actors are mostly professional sounding
-
MistaLeeeeReally Good!!I wasn't expecting too much from this but I have to say it's probably one of the best sci-fi podcasts I have heard so far. Man I hope they will eventually put out a season 2!!

jadr80Thank you for this contentI really enjoyed this. Would be very excited to know if there will be a season 2. Such a great premise and execution.

RytrexRiversI really triedI gave this 4 episodes hoping it would get better based off the positive reviews but it did not. Acting feels really forced, seems like they are drama kids reading directly from a script with nothing natural about any of the interactions. Forced laughter and unnatural character interactions. The “robot” who reads the scene changes sounds like a human doing a weird soft robot impression and takes away from a futuristic feel. The intro music is far too long, your already making the audience wait 4 episodes for something interesting to happen, cut the music down. The ships logs/reports spend a lot of time reading numbers and fake tech info that makes it really hard to feel like Im not on a boring zoom call. There was a really long interaction about movies from the 20th century, which felt like such a forced way of them comparing our lives now to the future, went on for far to long in an episode where something finally was happening to move the plot forward. Overall feels too rigid/unnatural and overacted, would be better if these characters came off as real people and not stage performers.

daveyz.Pert gud.Great story conceit and plot development. I wish they would allow themselves to improvise their delivery a bit more so as to create a more realistic and living interaction. Basically there’s a great story hear. The acting is good but could be great if they allowed the actors to stretch out and create more authentic scenes. This happens on a lot of audio drama. Too rushed. Strict adherence to the script and rush to deliver lines undercuts the production to some extent. Still, one of the best stories I’ve discovered!! Definitely recommended.

Agent1610PrimeWhat a ShowGahhh the twists and turns this takes. I want to know more about the Proximans, about what they were like, the things they made, and gosh darn it I want to know more about this crew.
-
hcvjyfhjgdcgfhkhdajSecond rate story with obnoxious sound effects throughoutIt would be a passable pulp scifi story, despite the misused terminology and overuse of reading numbers & codes aloud, etc. Unfortunately they decided it would be clever to record glitches and skips into the audio, constantly, because it's supposed to be some sort of found-footage (or data). For me that rendered it completely unlistenable.

roger30666Great findWas searching for something to listen too. Found this great show. Reminds me of old radio from the early 20th century. Will recommend.
-
TileManiac3000Absolutely StunningLet me just start by saying how pleased I am with this show. I binged the entire season in one workday and it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Often I find myself dreaming about discovering another world or playing with alien tech, and if you do too then this baby is right up your alley. From the different voices put forth by each actor to the rich sound effects, everything plants you deeply in this story. The only thing I want from these guys now is a season 2 in the same universe!
-
Danson 135GreatThe only problem is that I need to wait until next year for more!

Richard KLFlat out awesomeThis show really captures the genuine pulse of humanity. I'm not sure how else to describe it. The characters come alive and you feel like you're there with them, exploring this alien city, waiting for the other shoe to drop. You feel their excitement and curiosity. You get a sense of the space. The production values on the show are fantastic. The actors do a great job. The writing leaves you wanting to know what's going to happen next. This show gets my hearty recommendation.

ManMadeHumanLove almost all of itThe show is well acted and the sound design is very good and helps maintain that suspension of disbelief missed by so many other podcasts. The only problem I have is the computer’s voice. The voice actress has a great voice but I think the direction is all wrong. It’s unbelievable because modern computer voices sound very realistic and this takes place in the 22nd century and it sounds like a human pretending to be a computer. Which makes it kinda jarring and pulls you out of the world. I think having her use a more natural voice with a calm demeanor would suit it much better Thank you everyone for the great work and I’m looking forward to new episodes!

DariusM0F0I absolutely love this kind of fictionKEEP DOING THIS! This gives me my exploration fix that The SCP Archives and stuff like Tomb Raider or Uncharted gives me. I need this in my life.
-
BillTerrierVery well-doneI'm loving this. It's extremely well-written, the characters have enough space for their personalities to shine through, and the air of building mystery and dread is extremely good.
-
JfrankmillerA tense slow burnWell written with a really intriguing mystery at the center of the story. Well worth a listen.
-
Packer2020Boring!Another one of those “Let’s listen to the crews’ audio recordings b/c that will be fun!” Except it ain’t fun. It’s boring. Like the White Vault. The show may get better past the first 10-20 minutes but I ain’t sticking around to find out!
