I sat on this podcast for a bit then decided to take a listen. WOW…this has been a rollercoaster ride to say the least. Completely captivated by the stories, the narrator and wanting to know more as I sit on pins and needles waiting the next episode.

Anna keep going! You have uncovered SO much! So many people and victims have been helped. Just today a victim of L Hecker did an interview about being victimized. You are helping to give them a voice including the boys that have passed at such a horrible hand.

I’m from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and have spent a good chunk of my life in the city, yet I had never heard of this case or this podcast until today. And I am someone who eats, sleeps and breathes true crime and listens to a lot of true crime podcasts. I especially love episodic ones that stretch a case out over a whole season like this one does, so how this gem has never popped up on my radar I don’t know. It’s really a shame that it isn’t insanely popular, because there are plenty of subpar (if not downright bad) podcasts (and podcasters) out there that are super-famous and backed by big podcast companies. I don’t know if I would have found this one were I not today specifically looking for podcasts that focused on local cases, but thank goodness I did. The podcast is pretty close to having everything just how I like it—super in-depth research, thoughtful interviews, and investigative details, police work, forensics, etc. as well as finding out what the cops who were involved thought at the time and what they think now, and the fact that family members were included. The reporters are also great at being podcast hosts, and have perfect voices and attitudes for this medium. They aren’t afraid to ask tough questions and critique how things were handled, either. Pacing is great, it held my interest just fine and wasn’t too short or too long for my taste. And of course, the cases are all local so I love that. I’m a big fan now and I highly recommend it and hope more people listen to it. They clearly spent a ton of time, energy and money on this. These guys really turn over every stone and are just dogged. I really appreciate it.

This is by far the best true crime podcast I have ever listened to. The host(s) put in years of extensive research and investigation to connect the threads of some shocking and disturbing crimes that remained unsolved for decades. These crimes have many victims, and the host tell their stories with respect and without the exploitation/sensationalism that is so common in the true crime podcast world. The lengths to which the hosts have gone to solve these crimes are incredible, and I Hope the perpetrators are brought to justice.

If you like true crime investigative stories then this podcast is for you. Its subject matter is horrific child abuse. Anna’s thorough investigation work to find the links in seemingly unrelated cases is mind blowing. Started at the beginning… And buckle up.

I listened to Season 1 over covid, never expecting a Season 2. Having recently discovered S2 is not behind a paywall yet I’ve binged over the course of 2 weeks. This is heavy heavy material with Annas most amazing detective work pulling it all together. I just wonder WHY this DA hasn’t reached back out. Some episodes left me in tears and I pray every single morning for all these sweet boys including those that are still alive. The strength of the witnesses, family members, and survivors that have been interviewed is just unmatched. Thank you to them. Anna and Thanh great work, the Lords work. I pray for your safety, that these boys are vindicated and the pedophiles responsible are exposed for their crimes. Go get’em Anna - 100% rooting for you. Editing to add after the last three episodes of S2- wow wow wow. How is this even possible? The absolute injustice.

It’s hard not to feel frustrated about many things following this podcast. Yes, we are listening to it and having all that time in between episodes, but I can’t imaging doing this investigative work on your own. This episode has turned up the heat.

This podcast is truly a masterpiece, just stellar investigative journalism. Being born in New Orleans and raised across the lake in Slidell, I am truly stunned by the evil right under our noses. I pray the things uncovered here lead to answers and, ultimately, justice served!

Devastating, high quality investigating. Anna interviews the victims with dignity and respect, and shows that someone truly cares about their lifetime of trauma. The information she has been able to gather is amazing. I can’t imagine the toll it must take to hear these stories and see how badly these people have been treated for decades. The cold case of Daniel Dewey has bothered me for years and to find out about all of the other victims of these evil monsters that have gotten away with the most deplorable crimes against children is eye-opening and deeply disturbing, to say the least. I know you have made once tenuous connections a reality that goes beyond pure coincidence. I hope there will be more episodes and you uncover the truth. I started as a parish deputy in late 80’s and went to the Louisiana State Police in the 80’s. Between the two I had 8 years experience. The description of limited resources for a lot of small Louisiana parishes is something I saw first hand. I enjoy the podcast. You do a great job at painting an accurate picture and telling a story that needs to be told. Love it

One of, if not the most thorough, professional, true crime podcast out there. The six year persistence and organization of investigation and reporting by Anna Christie and Thanh Truong is beyond measure. Going through the episodes again. This riveting story reaches inside and latches on. I pick up something knew each rewind of an episode. Thinking of the times I’ve walked or rode by so any of these places gives me goosebumps. The most in-depth, organized, investigative podcast out there.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this podcast series. The authors have truly done their homework, with regards to the in-depth, investigative journalism. Scary stuff they’re covering, but I remember hearing and seeing a lot of what they have said on the local news. You guys are doing a great job- hope you cover other New Orleans based cold cases in the future.

Anna reports with integrity, respect and an objective stance. The dedication she applies to her research is worth every penny of a paid subscription!!! I recommend this podcast to everyone!

To me, a crucial component of a podcast is not only the explanations, but the delivery of information to the listener. Thanh & Anna deliver the information in such a clear & concise manner, you never get lost or have to back up and re-listen. Anna Christie and Thanh Troung Have done a lot of work to shed light on a very dark subject. I stumbled onto this after following the Thanh report and I’m very glad I found it. Any investigator will appreciate the the patience and dogged determination of Anna Christie to piece this together.

Hands-down the best of the many true crime podcasts I’ve listened to over the past few years. The hosts are professional and…real. You can tell they care about getting justice for the victims. Their research is impeccable, and they lay out the story well.

Fantastic investigative research went into both series! Can’t wait to see what’s next after the current series. New Orleans and all of Louisiana is such an amazing and mysterious place, the good the bad and the ugly is shown in these episodes. Especially interesting was the older times and crimes and how it ties into the present

What a heartbreaking yet riveting story of New Orleans! Chewing ‘em up and spitting ‘em out since its inception, probably. This is really a well done series, well-researched with captivating interviews and thorough descriptions of the pre-Katrina life and landscape. Like peeling (a rotten) onion- this story has so many layers and I hope the many victims can find peace in their lives.

I enjoyed season 1 so much that it pains me to say I may give up on season 2. Eight episodes that could be four, and zero real revelations.

Was really looking foward to this but it really went far away from the serial killer and is just talking about being gay in the 70s I want an investigation not a history lesson

Season 1 had me hooked and raised the bar, and then came Season 2, which has been incredibly fascinating yet tragic. I can’t recommend this podcast enough.

Each week, I waited anxiously for the new episode to drop during season 1. Season 2 is no different but this time we are learning about a serial killer that Anna has been tracking and investigating for 5 years. Ritualistic murders involving tying up young men with complicated rope work - I hope the creators will be able to bring the killer to justice! Can’t wait to find out!!
