Seriously one of the best true crime podcasts I ever listened to. Karen’s story was deeply moving and the storytelling was masterful. Thank you for telling this story.

    Incredible
This is an incredibly insightful and touching podcast that is multilayered. I was brought to tears by the relationship between Anthony, the narrator and creator, and the victims’ sister. Denise’s story was told with respect and care. Anthony is a compassionate and skillful narrator and interviewer. I highly recommend.

    Denise Didn’t Come Home
This is my first podcast and it’s worth every minute of listening time! Excellent research and narration. The story of Denise’s murder was a touching honor to the memory of Denise, Karen and the Falasca family. I anxiously wait for the release of each episode. Great job!

    Couldn’t stop listening
Recently I was on a long car ride and listened to episodes 1 and 2. Immediately I subscribed and finished the series. I just couldn’t stop listening. All the people involved and all the interviews made it a great listen. I would recommended anyone into podcasts to give it a shot you might just get hooked liked I did.

    Great show!
This show has captured my attention fully. As true crime, the host goes beyond just telling the story and provides insight into the people that were impacted by the murder.

    Denise Didn’t Come Home
A riveting and heartfelt account of why Denise Didn’t Come Home and the heartbreak it caused for all she left behind. Excellent and compassionate, this podcast does so much to help tell the untold story for those no longer able to speak for themselves. Please listen to this and learn why so many love Denise and her loving sister Karen.

    Not great
I first tried the season my friend is a serial killer and found it unlistenable. I did listen to season 2 about Rama the cult leader and it was more interesting (for maybe 5 episodes, after that, s t r e t c h that thing) but the level of incredulousness by the host was astonishing. How many times did we hear that he was unable to verify, well, almost everything, and then tell us all about it. His heavy reliance on Liz the PR person, follower, and biographer was astounding because there was no meaningful counterpoint. The thing I found perhaps most disturbing of all, was the frequent use of the fact that people could leave whenever they wanted and that Rama kicked people out of his cult as some sort of proof that it wasn’t a cult. That’s exactly how cults operate and cult leaders strengthen their cults and the ignorance of the host and his lack of understanding of that is ridiculous. I didn’t know anything about Rama and his group and I know very little more after listening to 10 long episodes. I’m sure there are shorter, more concise, more informative ways to learn about this group. Perhaps the host’s involvement in a cult as a child has led him to a lot of misunderstandings of cult dynamics. It’s hard to come to grips with your own experiences, which were not all bad, and then try to explain another cult without a tremendous amount of bias. Don’t waste your time on this feed.

    A Great Pod!
I’m not usually a fan of true crime, but this podcast has a really interesting take where it explores the current realities and memories of both the killer and the victims. Definitely a great listen!

The sweet side of true crime
I have been loving this show, it is not all about the killer or the victim, although it is a really interesting case. It is about finding appreciation and friendship in odd ways and honor those that are no longer here. Excellent work!

Greatest Scam Ever Written (Season 10)
I come from the same background as the investigative journalist and never gave credibility to psychics, so this story and the scammer’s thought-processes I found to be quite fascinating. The scammers know how to draw in their victims hook, line and sinker—very slick. Thanks to the journalist for sharing her own thoughts and feelings on this podcast— great job!

My first podcast and I really enjoyed listening to it
For some reason I've never listened to podcasts and was on a road trip from the mountains and thought I'd try one. I'm really glad I did and have now subscribed to this channel and will give a few more a shot! Anyway this story was super intriguing and sucked me in right away. I live in Boulder and my grandparents are from NJ and I had never heard of any of this. It's such a sad story and some parts are so hard to listen o but I loved how the author and Karen became friends as the podcast unfolded and the way things were told and revealed to the listener. Truly fascinating. Thank you for sharing Denise's story.

    Denise Didn’t Come Home
I just want to say this podcast is outstanding!!! The production is a work of art from the soul. Anthony did a superb job in sharing Karen and Denise’s heart wrenching story from beginning to end. This tragic murder is very close to my heart since we grew up together in Closter 2 houses away. Thank you for all your dedication, compassion and love you put into this for so many years! ❤️

This season is hands down the best one I’ve heard. The host’s relentless commitment to seeking justice, along with his emotional connection to Karen’s heartbreaking story, creates an incredibly engaging experience. The investigative revelations are shocking and deeply impactful, keeping you hooked from start to finish. Thanks for this incredible work! I enjoyed every second of it! 💪🏻👌🏻

What a beautiful tribute to Denise and Karen. So well done.
Excellent podcast, truly. Best one, equally well done as the one on Kristin Smart. The journalist is incredibly empathetic.

    Season 11: Denise
This was a nice story about the relationships on the other side of a true crime story, but but really a true crime story in itself. At the end of the day, the only thing anyone is relying on in Denise’s case is the word of an admitted liar, who lied constantly to police, Karen, and the throughout the podcast. His “confession” felt a lot like a dime-store psychic, just throwing out ideas and waiting for one to stick. And these “80 or more” murders he admitted to — I see people calling this podcast well researched, but there are so many areas that are just brushed under the rug instead of investigated. I learned a lot about Karen and her family, and how an un/solved case like this can cause an incredible impact on a family even decades later, but I didn’t feel like I learned much about the case itself or ultimately what happened to Denise. Still a good story, just not exactly what I expected or what I felt like the podcast kept telling me it was.

    ❤️❤️
Really loved this one. Karen was the heart of the story and made it even that much more touching. The plot twist was great. 10/10!

    Denise Didn’t Come Home
Denise didn’t come home is a truly incredible podcast and story that’s told expertly through the eyes of Karen Falasca, and follows her pursuit for justice and answers after her sisters murder. While the story itself about Denise is very interesting and has many twists and turns, it’s really the character of Karen that elevates this podcast from a good story into a great one. It becomes a story of perseverance, love, and an inner drive to find answers when no one else will. Hearing the interesting relationship between the podcasts host Anthony and Karen also gives a breath of fresh air into the podcast. The audience gets the pleasure of listening in real time as Karen infects Anthony with her determination for the truth.

    Stunning
This is a stunning, complicated, honest piece of work. I am changed having listened to it. I fell in love, right alongside the host, with a grieving family and held the truth the host helps uncover and all it’s confusion in hope of healing. Tender but direct, vulnerable but responsible, this isn’t just a true crime horror story, but also a family love story. Artfully done, Anthony. I hope you are basking.

    Pleasantly Unexpected
Came here for True Crime and to hear the story of Denise in Season 11 and left with so much more. The edit, the host, the connection of a journalist who becomes family really got me on this one. Absolutely loved it.

A refreshing break from typical true crime
Season 4: Firstly, it’s really unfortunate that the creator’s name is spelled (but not pronounced) the same as a former controversial Supreme Court Justice. This makes it hard to find much info about him. This was a podcast about one woman’s quest to get answers for the childhood murder of her sister. Initially I wasn’t sure that Karen was a real person, since she often seems like an actress, given her responses sand melodramatic expressions, The thing that made this different was that it was entirely about the journey from the perspective of the victims surviving family member, who herself is dying from cancer. It took a minute to grow on me but once it did, it was a refreshing little story break for my day. If true crime is your forte, I would definitely recommend. Unfortunately this won’t let you review by season, but for the record, seasons 1,2 & 4 were great, season 3 was garbage and I cringe at the sound of the narrator’s voice but they can’t all be winners, right?

    Denise Didn’t Come Home story
Beautifully done podcast. I’d say the big hook of the pod is the possible link to the Torso / Times Square Killer. But by the end, it’s a very human story about the impact of tragedy. In a nutshell: Karen is completely haunted by the long-ago unsolved murder of her big sister. She needs answers. She also has survivors guilt. As all of this is unpacked, a really special friendship is formed between her and the show’s host. We also hear from the killer. Really surprising to hear this person’s words and how they came across. It’s a very sad story with a lovable heroine in Denise’s sister. I will say if you’re looking for a great whodunnit, this probably isn’t it. But there is resolution, something we often don’t get in true crime stories. And it rings authentic. It also explores traumatic memories, with some interesting twists in this regard.

    Denise didn’t come home
As a Bergen county NJ native, this story is incredible. It’s nice to see true crime taking a turn away from covering the killer to covering the families and impact that it truly has. 10/10 and can’t wait for the next episode!

WOW 🤩!! This is incredibly UNBELIEVABLE. These Dudes had way TOO much POWER. They went totally off the Rails! Who is watching the “Shop”? Someone needs to be held accountable for this UNACCEPTABLE behavior from these Guys who are paid by taxpayers. Who will that be??? Good investigative reporting telling the TRUTH! Thank you for transparency 😇

    Just say sorry
This is so hard to listen to. This guys just repeated everything the Ranger said. So upsetting. But this is a great story and is not first or the last time this will happen to an innocent people.. so sad.

    Garbage
Season 5 makes me think all these Smoke Screen shows are fake. I know exactly what Trump said about bleach and it isn’t what was presented. Small snippets taken out of context. Smoke screen should go back and investigate the COVID scam and the millions that lost their livelihood for politics.
