Hosts provide the perfect amount of information on each topic/person! Each episode is well researched too. The history of the Catholic Church and those who make it up have all of the elements for fantastic storytelling and this podcast really brings that to light!

Other than a jarring t-glottalization by one speaker, this is a delightful podcast.

being a first generation American whose parents, once they realize we're staying in this country, flooded us with Americana, including American Catholics, I wasn't too sure I would learn much from this podcast. It is absolutely wonderful! Little vignettes that give us a peek to other times and places in our country while illustrating the enduring power and importance of faith. Both interesting and warming my heart.

Found out about this pod from one of your contributors, and have listened to the past three or four weeks, and enjoyed every show. Thank you. Would be a decent podcast if the hosts could keep their political and anti-progressive views out of it. It’s completely unfair to look back at historical figures from the lens of 2024 and pass judgement. The biography of Dom Virgil Michel, OSB ended up being more of a hit piece than a true unbiased biography.

American Catholic History was a random suggestion in my podcasts i figured I would give it a listen since I am a huge history nerd!! I did not realize how much the Catholic faith has influenced America and what it is today! Can’t stop listening to it.

The two hosts are good story tellers, even if the bad cheesy joke slips in. My only real critique is that all of the references to other podcast episodes that haven't been released in this feed drive me up a wall. I'm assuming they are simply reusing audio from the previous podcast but these comments could be edited out with some what ease. Heck if you need an editor, I will gladly do it. Well researched and pleasantly presented. These stories give behind the scenes facts about well known characters, and shows the influence of the faith on their contributions to the formation of America and her culture.

We just found this podcast on a 10 hour drive. Saw in my feed a podcast about first Catholic colony in US and was intrigued. Now 4 episodes later and we are hooked!! Love hearing about Catholic history.

I was somewhat skeptical when I decided to give it a try. It’s great!! The couple is entertaining, provides great information and it is inspiring to hear about figures in history you don’t always hear about. Obviously it is a religious show, but they balance the faith and information as perfectly as any program I’ve ever heard! Can’t recommend highly enough!

My kids and I really enjoy these podcasts. We’re homeschooling and learning about early American history so some of the events and personages overlap with our book learning. These are a lot of fun!

I truly love this podcast. The Crowes have introduced me to so many inspiring Catholics from so many walks of life from priests to actors and coaches. There’s an award given to parishioners in our diocese called the Brute Award. Since listening to ACH I now know the origin of the name. I recommend ACH to anyone who will listen to me!!

A great podcast for learning about only American Catholic History. The episodes I have listened to have always made me go “wow, that was cool to learn about” one that sticks out especially is the episode on Mark Twain. Very nice podcast, keep up the good work!

There’s nothing like a good story to make history interesting, and the Crowes are great storytellers. Not all the episodes are about saints, but they’re all inspiring, entertaining, and worth the listen.

This podcast is educational, inspiring, and fun. It tells the stories of people and events of Catholicism and its influence in American history. I highly recommend it!

Theses two have kept me company as I drive & fly across this country. They always seem to keep me interested even if it’s a story I’ve heard before. The latest episode brought tears to my eyes. Very well done.

Great episodes chronicling people and moments in our history! I love how American Catholicism is presented neither as hagiography nor demonized. Instead the podcast shows us figures and events as the Church sees history - God's presence working through grace and sin. Great episode length and a variety of subject manner for just about anyone. This podcast needs more listeners!
